In Post Mortem Larraín returns to events crucial for Chile post-war history. Mario, a mortician, in the day of coup lead by Pinochet in 1973, decides to confess love to his neighbor, a cabaret dancer. A melancholic love story takes place against the landscape devastated by army. An old woman is being replaces by a young dancer, just as one system is being replaced by another one. Larraín remains faithful to the subjects he used to take. The story of love obsession is enriched in historiosophical reflection, and the world becomes an emanation of chaos and anxiety. Already known from Tony Manero Alfredo Castro as Mario, creates a character of „a man without properties”, sneaking through streets embraced by violence.
